Engage Today
How To Get Involved?
We have three easy ways to get started…
All it takes is a little Time, Talent, and Treasure.
Community engagement and the fostering of relationships are key to changing outcomes for our families. Most of our families find it hard to make the budget last to the end of the month and much ground was lost in the education of our children during the pandemic.
We need community support like yours to close the gap in education and access to basic needs. Together, we can bring wrap-around support to our neighbors who need a hand up and, sometimes, a hand to hold.
Have a special talent or something you love to do? Let us help you turn it into a passion that changes lives. We INNOVATE solutions with willing hearts to serve.
Time: Volunteer
We currently have four volunteer teams that work directly with our youth and families:
Current Volunteer Teams
Food Preparation Team members prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks. The team will be responsible for setting up, breaking down, and cleaning tables and the kitchen for the next shift. Meal planning and supply chain management are also included.
Greeters for student check-in/out provide a welcoming atmosphere as parents and children come into the school in the mornings and are discharged in the afternoons. Greeters will track expected participants for arrivals and dismissals and provide program coordinators with the information.
Bus Buddies are volunteers who help support and expand our transit services by picking up Afterschool Care Program participants from their base schools and bringing them to our Rosenwald School.
Homework Helpers and Interns assist our teachers in providing academic support for our students Monday through Thursday.
Talent: We Need Special Skills
What Special Skill would you like to bring to the table? LET’S CONNECT
Treasure: Even a Little Means a LOT
Treat a student to dinner: $10
Educational materials: $50
Gas Up a Van: $100
Most of our students must overcome transportation barriers. If we did not provide transportation, they would not receive the help they need and many families would not have quality childcare while they work. Juniper Level Missionary Baptist Church donated its buses to transport students, but no one imagined we would travel over 7,700 miles annually!
